Karen Milici Palmiero

Karen Milici Palmiero holds a Masters Degree in Alcoholism Counseling and is a certified addictions counselor. She began her career as a Middle School Health and Physical Education Teacher in Roselle Park, New Jersey. Working with adolescents has always been Ms. Palmieros’ passion. In 1985 she left teaching to work with teenagers struggling with drug addiction.

Ms. Palmiero is a seasoned presenter, and an experienced clinician. She has counseled thousands of young people and their families. The question she is most commonly asked is “How do we PREVENT our children from experimenting with drugs?” Through her experience, Ms. Palmiero wrote the book “90 Ways to Keep Your Kids Drug Free”. It is her hope that parents begin in the formative years, parenting for prevention. Most parents wait much too long to address the issue.

Ms. Palmiero presently is employed by Liberty Behavioral Management, Inc, a leading provider in the Behavioral Healthcare field. She is Director of Regional Services for Arms Acres, a 129-bed substance abuse facility in Carmel, New York. She resides in Dutchess County, New York with her husband Dominick and her daughter Rachel.
