• 1.5% of high school seniors use heroin, an increase since last year
• 10.6% of 12th graders report other opiate use….codeine, morphine
• 19.7% of 8th graders report using inhalants
• 15.6% of 8th graders report smoking pot
• 3.1% 8th graders and 8.2% of 12th graders report using ecstasy
• Are different from the drugs in the 60’s and 70’s
• Marijuana is 10 times stronger than the pot of the 60’s
• Heroin is much purer and more affordable
• LSD is stronger
• Pot is often laced with other drugs
• Designer drugs (ecstasy, Special K) are produced in home laboratories
